We have just completed a 7 day TK Lemosho trek with Hesbon as the Head Guide. He was absolutely amazing, and got all 5 of us to the top in good condition.

A true professional. Right from the start he had an air of authority about it. It was clear he knew what he was doing and that the crew around his respected him greatly. He took charge from the second we started and made the experience seamless. He always let us know what was going on, what we'd be doing that day and so on. But it was Summit night that he truly shone. From the moment we started walking that night we felt very reassured for our safety / health. He made sure we had the right gear, and then checked our condition every 20-30 minutes. He kept everyone moving, talking and in generally good spirits. He was great. Having seen other groups at the summit and the state of some people, I became even more thankful of Hesbon and his conscientious and meticulously approach to Summit night. He was also great at camp making sure about the security of our things, a couple times while we were eating dinner in the bigger camps we noticed he has asked 3 porters to watch over our tents. He was always telling us when we needed to be more careful with our belongings and when was safe. He is a great man, we all have a lot of respect for him. He made our experience on the mountain a truly great one.

A big thank you to Hesbon and his team (Guides Edwin and Guido, Cook Baraka, Waiter Juju and all the others). It was an experience we will never forget.

An Outstanding Individual!

Dear Team Kilimanjaro,

having meanwhile returned home after a fantastic visit to Tanzania, I would very much like to express my thanks to your organization, the team who took us to the top of Kibo was just excellent.

Our chief guide Hesbon Gohoti might have already notified you, but just to confirm I have given the following tips to him for appropriate distribution among the team:

560 USD (on behalf of Johan Verlinden & Katrin Schutte) plus
600 USD (on behalf of Neil and Katie Mclean)

I would like to mention as well that also the guidance we received from Frank Leonard who functioned as assistant guide in our trek was outstanding. In our view, he would also be a very capable chief guide. If there is any other place where we or other trekkers of our group could endorse this recommendation for Frank please let us know.

We will warmly recommend Team Kilimanjaro to other people who became interested to climb the mountain based on our experience.

Only comment for improvement I'd like to make is that the mess tent where meals are served for the trekkers might need replacement soon (does not fully close anymore / leaks through the roof).

Thanks again,
Katrin Schutte & Johan Verlinden
