Duties include cultivating corn and beets, applying pesticides, setting up irrigation systems, servicing/maintaining center pivots, property and infrastructure, setting water twice daily, and operating, maintaining and repairing farm equipment.

Farm Bill Wildlife Biologist
Worked throughout the Nebraska panhandle with NRCS, NGPC, Pheasants Forever and others to aid farmers and ranchers in implementing wildlife habitat enhancement projects. Matched up landowner and habitat project objectives with appropriate federal, state or local cost share programs and administered such programs. Advised landowners in developing habitat and farm and ranch objectives and goals, designed conservation plans and habitat projects, created project budgets, enrolled owners in conservation programs, coordinated with contractors, examined finished projects, and assigned payments. Completed quarterly work products accounting summaries. Prioritized tasks and worked with minimal supervision. Educated public through presentations and tours such as youth mentor hunts, state habitat meeting, habitat management tours and workshops and PF banquets. Conducted prescribed burns and bird surveys. Marketed and sold conservation programs to Ag producers. Provided extensive technical assistance for creating and managing grassland ecostystems. Created all CRP SAFE contracts in the panhandle. Wildlife Technician
Created and enhanced upland and wetland habitat on 880-acre Hagerman WMA. Planted, cultivated, irrigated, and applied pesticides to food plots and vegetation for wildlife habitat, controlled noxious weeds, maintained trails and aesthetic qualities of WMA, monitored water depth, monitored mosquito activity and West Nile virus, trapped and banded mourning doves, electro-fished trout streams, mapped noxious weeds, excavated and inserted new irrigation main line, reduced wildfire risk, and interacted with public on a daily basis. 90% work done
independently, 10% in groups of 2-5. Worked and maintained vegetation in extremely hot and dry environment. Worked with heavy machinery and irrigation equipment, applied herbicides, handled live animals, set and checked water and traps twice daily.
